Nanase is an examinee who is partners with Yakumo. He is an enemy of Zero and Ichii, but mostly rivals against Zero. In the English dub, he is voiced by Sean Teague.

Zero and Nanase first met when Nanase was getting attention from boys. While he thought he was gonna "Tell them later", that he wasn't a girl, Zero tried to land a skateboard trick, but instead ended up hitting Nanase. While Nanase is on the floor, Zero apologizes, calling him ,"Dude". While the other boys that surrounded Nanase asked him why he hit a girl, Zero soon revealed that Nanase wasn't a girl. Losing his popularity, Nanase has hated Zero ever since and has plotted to get revenge on him.
